Fun Summer Activities
With us being half-way through summer, here are some fun activities you can have with your loved ones through this hot and fun season.
Try a new restaurant.
The state government is giving everyone in January of 2021. These vouches include two $25 vouchers to be used for eating in at restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs and clubs from Monday to Thursday, excluding public holidays and two $25 vouchers to be used for entertainment and recreation, including cultural institutions, live music, and arts venues, available 7 days a week, excluding public holidays. So why don’t you get your money’s worth and try a new restaurant.
Restaurants not your thing? Not a problem.
Why don’t you cosy up in a movie theatre? There’ve been some great releases this year, best part about it – you’ll beat the heat.
Now I don’t mean David Jones or Myer (you can if you want), I was thinking of a marketplace. I know Berry hosts a marketplace on the first Sunday of every month. I’ve been there and it is great!
There are many fun country towns that you can drive to located not too far out of Sydney. My personal favourites are Berry, Berrima and Robertson (Robertson Pies sell mouthwatering pies). I know this isn’t a country town but The Entrance is also a great spot too if you’re looking for something a little more beachy
If you want to stay in doors why don’t you pick up baking. Baking is a great way of keeping you occupied – best part? Cakes!!!! And also it’s a great way of being inside under an AC.
Speaking of keeping you occupied and cool, quilting is another idea you can do this summer.
Everyone needs a little scrapbooking once in a while don’t they? Scrapbooking is a great way of letting your creativity fly. It’s also a good way of reflecting.
Want to really do some reading?
Why don’t you research your family? Head to ancestry or another website and start digging.
Still want to take advantage of that voucher? You betcha. My personal favourite is the Nicholson Museum. If you love history and want to learn more about our past, head to your local museum.
An art gallery is another awesome way of spending your summer with your loved one. The Art Gallery of NSW are always getting new pieces in. I love the art gallery so much that I went to see the same exhibition twice!
The internet has allowed us to do many great things including, online gaming. Online you are able to play chess and other fun (not so) board games.
Want to make a little cash on this side? Try a garage sale, get rid of that stuff you don’t need and de-clutter your house or apartment.
Take a computer class
Want to learn how to use the computer? Why don’t you take a computer class. All you need to learn is the basics and your knowledge will snowball from there.
Arts and Crafts
Occupy your time and express your creative side. Crafting exercises the mind and reduces stress. Break out the old arts & crafts box and start piecing together a masterpiece.
Put together a fish tank
Fish are the lowest of maintenance pets, all you need to do is feed them two or three times a day and wash their tank every 2 weeks
